Green Cities Forum (FOV)

Date
05-11 September 2022
Place
Brasov

From 12:00 to 17:00

The Green Cities Forum (FOV) is the largest event in Romania dedicated to environmental sustainability. After a successful first edition in 2021, the second edition of this event will be taking place from 5-11 of September 2022, transforming Brasov into Romania's green capital for the week.

Last year, FOV was born out of the desire to protect nature, seeing how much we needed it during the pandemic. And this year, under the auspices of war, we see how much we need energy - this being the theme of the second edition of FOV: "Find Your Power".

Organised by Brasov Municipality, the Green Cities Forum gathers local and national representatives from Romania and from all around Europe, alongside experts, local stakeholders and citizens, to discuss different pathways to paving a green future for our urban landscapes.

The Forum is divided into 2 segments

International Conference of Public Environmental Policies

This conference aims at gathering 300 representatives of local and national authorities in Europe (mayors, presidents of county councils, parliamentarians, public administrators, local and county councilors, civil servants), representatives of environmental NGOs, representatives of the business environment, for to analyze the best practices in the field of public environmental policies. The conferences will focus on this year's theme "Energy Challenge - find your power" and will host debates and panels from 5-7 of September.

You can find the programme of the International Conference here. The Conference will be livestreamed on their website, so make sure to tune in!

Activities for the general public

Like last year, Brasov Municipality will organise more than 100 activities in which the citizens of the city are involved, such as a bikers' parade, film festival or greenings, ongoing throughout the city during the entire week.
